Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for experienced medical professionals, nurses, arabic interpreters or medical students who are passionate about using their skills to make a difference for refugees and other displaced people.
Each team is managed by an on-site coordinator. In each of our locations, we look to resource teams with a minimum of:
- 2 doctors
- Up to 2 Medical students (preferably in their last year of study)
- 1 nurse or paramedic
- 1 translator

What To Expect As A Volunteer
We are currently working across various locations in Ethiopia. VHO staff are active wherever help is needed. We visit Health Facilities, Internally Displaced People camps and other locations wherever people are seeking help can be found. VHO provides basic medical care to those seeking medical help.
Flexible team work
All of our decisions are discussed as a team, be it at the organizational level or when on-site. All team members are involved as much as possible to improve the situation for our communities. The local team work together to decide which locations to prioritize.
What to expect once you sign up to volunteer
Once you sign up and have a placement location and dates confirmed, we will provide all the information you require, including location, accomodation, insurance we recommend you to have, your team etc… Our dedicated team will make sure that your onboarding experience is as smooth as possible, right up until you meet your team on-site.
